Chen Mengji, a cheeky young lawyer in Lingnan, uses witty tricks to fight for ordinary people—but offends the powerful by exposing the county magistrate’s son’s scam, leading to a false charge of “extortion” that ruins his reputation. When he’s at his lowest, he meets Ah Ju, a widow wrongfully accused of murdering her husband. This case uncovers a bigger plot: the magistrate embezzling disaster relief grain! To clear Ah Ju’s name, Chen revives his “tricky” skills: bribing kids with sugar-coated haws to steal official documents, pretending to be a ghost to get a confession from the magistrate’s assistant, and even using “character divination” in court to debunk fake evidence… When he slams the corruption proof on the court table, the powerful who once mocked him are left speechless—this “street rascal” has become the “Tricky Lawyer King” who dares to stand up to corrupt officials!
