Social-phobic designer Ma Xiaoyu is forced to share an apartment after her company goes bankrupt, accidentally moving in with Zhang Jinyi, a cold and reserved lawyer. One is a 'soft hedgehog' curled up in fear of socializing, the other a 'cold rose' pushing people away with thorns—they even called the police over a bathroom time dispute on their first meeting! But when Ma helps Zhang take care of his suddenly hospitalized grandma at midnight, and Zhang silently retrieves her plagiarized design drafts, these two 'spiky' people finally learn: the warmest embrace is being willing to pull out a thorn for each other.
