Ordinary office worker Lin Xiaoman signs a "trade luck for life" pact with the mysterious god Xie Zhao to save her terminally ill mother. But after the pact, Xie Zhao moves into her rental apartment, claiming to "supervise the contract"—he wards off perverted clients, fixes burst pipes, and even cooks hot congee when she works overtime until midnight. Lin Xiaoman gradually falls for this "overstepping" god, only to find in Xie Zhao's star map notebook that her mother's illness was a setup to lure her into the pact. When her faith shatters, she holds up the contract and asks, "Do you even have a heart?" Xie Zhao suddenly grabs her hand, his fingertips glowing with divine patterns: "I bet that you'd fall in love with me—something more important than all luck."
