Echoes of Hong Kong City follows Lin Wan, a New York-based composer, who returns to Hong Kong's old district to restore her grandmother's old tape. She stumbles into "Fuxing Tea House" and reunites with Chen Mo—the boy who gave her milk candies 15 years ago, with a promise: "When you come back, I'll make you the sweetest pineapple bun." But Chen Mo stood her up before she went abroad—his father had a stroke that day, and he missed the dock by minutes. Now, Lin Wan carries resentment over the broken promise, while Chen Mo hides guilt and unconfessed love. Worse, the tape holds a secret: Lin Wan's grandmother and Chen Mo's grandfather were once lovers torn apart by family feud, with their song "Hong Kong Night Melody" on the tape. Just as Lin Wan tries to fix it, Chen Mo—diagnosed with his father's illness—pushes her away. Can they untangle past misunderstandings and seize their delayed love amid this cross-generational echo?
