Lin Chuan, a "kept man" who has been married into the Su family for three years, endures his mother-in-law's sarcastic abuse and his wife Su Qing's coldness every day—even buying vegetables makes him the target of neighbors' gossip. Until the old jade pendant left by his grandfather suddenly cracks, granting him a treasure appraisal eye that "sees through the past and present"—a broken porcelain piece hides the mark of a Southern Song official kiln, and a rusty copper stove turns out to be a gilded artifact bestowed by Emperor Qianlong! When the Su family is on the brink of bankruptcy due to an antique fraud, Lin Chuan speaks up for the first time: "I can appraise treasures." But everyone laughs at him—until he points to the "fake" Buddha head and says, "This is Hetian jade from the Northern Wei Dynasty; the missing crack is inside the base." The room falls silent—will this "good-for-nothing" mocked for three years become the new legend in the treasure appraisal circle? And can the frozen feelings between him and Su Qing thaw as the truth emerges?
