Su Wantang, a reclusive divine doctor, is forced to marry Gu Jingheng, the most powerful minister in the court, to save her family. However, she finds her new husband “acts crazy” every day—either knocking over her medicine pot while she’s boiling herbs, or deliberately wearing his official robes backwards and insisting on running horses on the imperial street. Su Wantang originally wanted to pretend to be weak to get through this marriage, but Gu Jingheng’s “craziness” keeps poking her scales: first, he pretends to be poisoned to force her to reveal her medical skills, then he throws himself into her arms and shouts “Madam, save me” when attacked. Gradually, she discovers that Gu Jingheng’s “craziness” is fake—he’s using madness to avoid his enemies in the court; and Gu Jingheng has long seen through that this “frail” madam hides silver needles that can bring the dead back to life and can wield a sword to kill all assassins. When the veil of pretense is lifted, how will these two people with secrets turn their “fake madness and fake weakness” into a game of true love in the vortex of the court?
