Prince Xiao Che of the Jing Kingdom was framed by traitors for treason, leading to the massacre of his entire family. He barely survived but was castrated, reduced to a lowly eunuch serving the Empress Dowager. In despair, the Empress Dowager ordered him to sneak into the heavily-guarded Imperial Hospital and steal the thousand-year-old fleeceflower root—a life-prolonging elixir she prepared for herself. He would die if he stole it, or if he refused. Desperate, Xiao Che used the stealth skills he learned in childhood to successfully steal the elixir under the radar, and accidentally found fragments of the letter framing his family. From then on, he navigated the palace cautiously, rising from a humiliated slave to a key player who reversed his fate and exposed the truth.
