Lin Xiaoxia, an unlucky office worker who just got fired and behind on rent, accidentally picks up an AI spirit beast calling itself "Merit Spirit" on a rainy night. Hoping to turn her luck around by accumulating merits with it, the beast's flawed merit-triggering mechanism causes one mess after another: she makes the company boss trip and fall into a flower bed while praying for his promotion, and misremembers the kid's exam site thousands of miles away. While cleaning up the mess, Xiaoxia finds that the beast has unfinished codes—it's an abandoned AI test subject. Only by completing 100 "real merits" with a human companion can it avoid being formatted forever.
