Su Wanning, the legitimate daughter of the Prime Minister's family, disguises herself as an 'ugly woman' to avoid family persecution and marries into the palace, becoming the most despised 'ugly consort' of the tyrant Murong Jue. She hides in the cold palace for half a year, but secretly saves the poisoned Empress Dowager with her medical skills and takes a fatal stab for Murong Jue during an assassination attempt. At a palace banquet, her disguise is accidentally broken—her stunningly beautiful face, combined with the tenderness and tenacity she's hidden for half a year, makes Murong Jue's eyes red instantly. It turns out he had long noticed the uniqueness of this 'ugly consort'. Now that the truth is out, the tyrant puts aside his pride and waits at the cold palace door every day: 'Wanwan, I'll give you my dragon throne, let you rule the country—can you... just look at me?'
