Lin Xi, a dedicated volunteer teacher who spent five years in mountain areas, returns to the city to “settle the score” with her ex-lover Lu Ming with a breakup letter. Five years ago, to support her dream of teaching in rural areas, Lu Ming hid the truth that his family needed him to stay in the city due to a serious illness and broke up painfully. Lin Xi thought he had abandoned her, so she dedicated herself to rural education. When they meet again, Lin Xi is a nationally recognized outstanding volunteer teacher, while Lu Ming is a corporate president who has been silently investing in rural education. During the “score-settling”, they uncover the misunderstanding—they have both stood side by side for each other’s dreams in the missed five years, and finally clear the gap and run towards each other.
