Lin Xiaochuan, a mortgage-stricken urban nobody, stumbles upon his grandfather’s tattered cloth bag and accidentally connects to a parallel 1977! One minute he’s being yelled at by his boss, the next he’s selling 1977 food stamps for cash and helping a rural educated youth secure a job quota. But the pouch’s rule—“Take, then repay”—turns his good deed into a “sudden fiancée” in the present! While fixing his leaky rental with immortal cultivation spells, he bickers with the 1977 girl via handwritten notes. Just as he savors the “two-world cheat”, the pouch warns: Taking her to the present will break the timeline! Turns out the pouch isn’t just linking worlds, but a 46-year mutual redemption. But he’s determined to bet: Can both versions of “us” have no regrets?
