Desperate and lame, A Fu marries a mysterious foreign wife. Their life is not only tough, but also teased by the whole village as he is said to have a useless freeloader. Though guilty, A Fu treats his wife kindly. When a drought hits and bandits harass villagers, the wife secretly uses her power to bring rain and drive away the bandits, revealing her true identity: she is a fox immortal who was saved by A Fu when she fell into water years ago, and came to the human world to repay the kindness.
