Xiaoxing, a naughty star kid from Interstellar Primary School, accidentally smashes the star chart and has to hide on Earth. She stumbles into Xiaotang's family, who run a breakfast shop and always quarrel over Grandma's "weird habit"—talking to an old clock at midnight. But this ordinary family holds a secret: the old clock can connect to the stars! Xiaoxing hides her glowing fingertips and the fact that water turns her to stardust, while helping Xiaotang uncover Grandma's "madness": Grandma once saved Xiaoxing's mother, a fallen star, and the clock has stardust that can hear interstellar voices. When interstellar enforcers arrive, Xiaoxing must choose between going back for punishment or staying in this warm family—only to find Grandma knew her identity all along, smiling as she hands her stardust cookies: "A star's child belongs where there's love."
