A female survivor struggling in a marine apocalypse accidentally travels back to a fishing village before the disaster. She meets a down-and-out scholar with a disabled leg from a drowning, who is about to drop out due to poverty. Knowing the apocalypse is coming, she uses advanced knowledge to treat his leg, takes him fishing for rare seafood to earn tuition. A rare pearl helps them meet a noble to expose the village's misdeeds. The scholar studies hard, passes the imperial exam, and returns to keep his promise of staying with her.
