Set in the 1980s, an ordinary wife trapped in a poverty-alleviating marriage—she takes all housework and subsidizes her husband's family, but gets indifference and exploitation in return. Disappointed enough, she divorces her husband. Later, she seizes the business opportunity from her uncle in Guangzhou, works hard and soon makes her first bucket of gold. Gaining independence and confidence, she firmly rejects her regretful ex-husband who tries to reconcile, slaps him hard and becomes a vivid example of female comeback in the 1980s.
