Two empty-nest elderly women, Zhou Yuzhen and Song Guifang, are abandoned by their children. In despair, their souls swap and they travel back to their youth in 1982. Back then, as young daughters-in-law, they face a harsh mother-in-law and their future son who will be a ne'er-do-well. The two decide to team up to fight back: defeat the evil mother-in-law, teach the unfilial son a lesson, free themselves from family bonds, start their own careers, and become independent, confident new women.
