In 1975, Lin Xiaoman, an educated youth, returns to Lingnan's old street with a yellowed account book to save her grandfather's dying antique shop. She plans to revive the store with modern restoration skills, but faces constant obstruction from Uncle Zhou, a conservative carpenter—who believes “broken things aren't worth fixing” and harbors an old grudge against her grandfather. Next-door Chen Afu, jealous of the shop's location, even poaches the only assistant. When Xiaoman restores a late Qing famille rose vase, Uncle Zhou suddenly takes out a broken jade plaque—that's the “debt” her grandfather owed him, and the faded note inside points to an antique secret buried in the street for 30 years……
