Lin Shen, a socially anxious independent bookstore owner, lives a monotonous life with his cat "Dafu" surrounded by books—until Su Xiaoxuan, a vibrant pet blogger, crashes into his world to film a "Cats in Bookstores" feature. Xiaoxuan's enthusiasm pierces his protective shell; Lin Shen secretly leaves her fresh lemon tea every day, but his clumsy words make her think he's "cold." Xiaoxuan believes her crush is one-sided—until Dafu has a sudden gastroenteritis attack. On their late-night trip to the vet, Lin Shen grabs her hand and confesses the feelings he's hidden for three months: "I scrolled through all your updates every day, just afraid my advance would be abrupt."
