Through the Mist to the Sun Season 2 centers on the bond between criminal police Li Zhao and forensic doctor Ma Ruize. A decade-old unsolved serial disappearance case suddenly resurfaces, with clues pointing to Ma Ruize's late sister. Li Zhao races against time to catch the killer and protect his partner, while dealing with Ma Ruize's trust issues as her memories crumble. Ma Ruize struggles between 'family truth' and 'professional rationality', even falling into mortal danger for the investigation. When the mist clears, the 'protective umbrella' in the dark emerges. Can they break the deadlock and cross the emotional barrier to face their true feelings for each other?
