Lin Zheng, the new director of State-owned Hongguang Machinery Factory, faces a workshop explosion on his first day—shoddy steel causes a veteran worker to be seriously injured. Tracing the clues, he uncovers that the kickback bills of the purchasing manager involve his brother-in-law and the vice mayor's brother-in-law. While his wife pleads through tears, "Do you want to destroy our family?", a thousand workers block the factory gate holding "We want to eat" signs. Clutching the purchase orders he found overnight, Lin Zheng finally slams the table at the staff meeting: "My sword only cuts parasites who feed on workers' blood!"
