Lin Wan, a modern emergency doctor, accidentally travels back to 1969 while working on a case late at night—into the body of Lin Xiaoman, a city-bred知青 (educated youth) despised by villagers as “fragile and useless.” In a poor mountain village with no medicine, she saves a pregnant woman from dystocia using modern skills, only to be accused of “evil tricks.” Zhou Xingchuan, the rugged village leader, initially mocks her but secretly follows her into the mountains during a rainstorm to protect her from falling rocks when she goes to find herbs for a poisoned child.
