Luo Peng, who worked in the city, rushed back to his hometown when his mother fell seriously ill, only to discover the shady deal of the village's collective forest being illegally subcontracted—and the contractor was Shi Dixi, his ex-girlfriend who vanished without a word seven years ago. Torn between the villagers' trust and the ancestral land on the brink of seizure, and the tangled emotions of reuniting with his old flame, Luo Peng is forced into this "village chaos". Is Shi Dixi's "sudden return" for money or does she have an ulterior motive? The old village secretary's unusual silence and an anonymous letter from a villager only deepen the mystery. When love clashes with justice, can they resolve their past misunderstanding and join hands to uncover the village's ten-year-old secret?
