Lin Qiang, a hunter in the northeast mountains, clashes with developer Zhao Tianlai who wants to demolish his late father’s hunting ground to build a resort. During a patrol, he stumbles upon a century-old wild ginseng king. When he tries to sell it to save the land, Zhao tricks him. Luckily, his childhood sweetheart Zhou Xiaoqin finds a knowledgeable merchant to expose the fraud. Using the ginseng as a catalyst, Lin develops eco-tourism—saving the hunting ground and leading villagers out of poverty. He rises from a rugged hunter to the richest man in the northeast. Filled with the straightforward warmth of northeastern people, watch how an ordinary man uses his “stubbornness” to create his own legend in his homeland.
