"Joy of Dongxia" tells the story of Lu He, the son of Dongxia's former护国 general, who disguises himself as a servant in the Jin family (involved in his family's massacre) to investigate the truth. Jin Kainan, the Jin family's youngest daughter, is lively and curious about the silent Lu He, often pestering him for jianghu stories. Lu He originally planned to use her to get confidential info, but is melted by her purity and falls for her. However, when the truth emerges—the Jin family was framed, the real culprit is the current Empress Dowager, and Kainan's mother is Lu He's missing wet nurse—the two must choose: stay together by letting go of grievances, or split for the past?
