Su Jianguo, a single career elite, becomes the temporary father of nine daughters overnight after promising to take care of his late friend's kids—from crawling twins to a rebellious senior high schooler, these nine “cotton padded coats” turn his life upside down: his suits get stained with formula, his PPTs are turned into comics, and they even team up to help him pursue his secret crush, a female doctor. When he misses a promotion due to childcare, the girls secretly pool money to buy his cherished old camera with a note: “Dad’s dream, we’ll keep it warm for you.” This “siege of nine cotton coats” transforms a tough guy into a master of braiding pigtails and a cold apartment into a home filled with warmth and life.
