Ancient book restorer Yu Shuzheng receives a torn copy of 《Gui Xu Lu》, which contains a photo of his late mother with a strange man and half an unfinished love letter. Just as he tries to restore the book, Lin Wan, the granddaughter of the man in the photo, bursts in, accusing him of stealing her grandfather's relic. From confrontation to forced cooperation, they uncover the older generation's secret while repairing the scroll—Yu's mother and Lin's grandfather were kindred spirits separated by misunderstanding; the grandfather entrusted the book to Yu's mother before his death, but it was torn accidentally. When the scroll is mended, the older regret is healed, and Yu and Lin also find their love in the restoration.
