Birds Over the Abyss tells the story of Lin Shen, a former genius pilot who fell into deep self-blame after a flight accident and hid in a remote fishing village as a mechanic, his closed heart like falling into an abyss. Su Xiao, a rebellious paraglider, insists on coming here to investigate the truth of the accident to fulfill her brother's last wish, like a bird crashing into the abyss. Their first meeting was full of tension—Su Xiao believed Lin Shen was a "coward hiding secrets", while Lin Shen was annoyed by her "pestering". But as they got to know each other, Su Xiao discovered the guilt beneath Lin Shen's indifference, and Lin Shen was awakened by Su Xiao's persistence to his love for flying.
