Lin Shen (played by Guan Li), an ancient painting restorer, takes over a faded Song Dynasty portrait of a lady. Late at night, he is shocked to see Shen Zhaozhao (played by Zhao Andi), the lady in the painting, emerge—she is an obsession sealed in the artwork, and will vanish once the painting is restored. Lin Shen struggles between his "restoration duty" and "keeping his lover", while uncovering a century-old misunderstanding: Zhaozhao was once the painter's lover, but was falsely accused of "killing her husband" due to rumors, and finally sealed herself in the unfinished painting. Can they break the chains of fate? A painting connects two love stories—when the faded colors are brushed away, is it a reunion or an eternal farewell?
