Late at night, office worker Lin Xiaoman picks up an old book called "The Mortal Desire Ledger" from a street stall. To her surprise, it reveals the hidden wishes of people around her: her gentle colleague wants to quit and start a business, her strict boss secretly cares for his sick mother, and the pancake lady downstairs harbors a wish to wear a wedding dress once. She uses the book to help them fulfill their small wishes, only to find her own name in the ledger one day—marked with "want to see my late father again." A rule suddenly appears: "After helping three people, the holder's wish will backfire." As Lin watches the pancake lady smile in her wedding dress and her colleague say through tears, "I dare to try," she realizes that desires are not sins—those little "wants" in the mortal hustle are the warmest light. But the countdown in the ledger has already begun, forcing her to choose between helping others and saving herself.
