After apocalyptic locusts devour crops, the entire village starves—except for grain merchant Liu Wanshan and his son Liu Fengshuo, whose granaries mysteriously overflow. Wife Cheng Meihua uncovers her husband's grim trade: profiting from famine by selling stolen relief grains to the black market. But when enraged villagers torch their gates and imperial inspectors close in, the truth squirms in the shadows of those grain piles. The mountains of 'grain' are smuggling caches for rebel weapons! Trapped between survival and conscience, the family's hoard becomes a tomb sealing their darkest sins.
