In the early days of China's reform and opening up, Chen Mo (Wang Bingxiang), a returned educated youth, brings new technology blueprints back to the state-owned Hongguang Factory to promote reform, only to clash head-on with Lin Xiaotang (Xiaoli), who defends traditional craftsmanship. When Chen merges new tech with old craftsmanship to win an overseas order, Xiaotang—holding her mother’s handmade badge—cries and throws herself into his arms. Turned out, the “fiery” era isn’t about one choice, but two stubborn people finally turning their “conflict” into shared warmth.
