Ordinary wage earner Yang Lintao (Yang Tao) suddenly inherits an old apartment from his late grandfather. He thinks he can finally live a comfortable life, but on the day he takes over, he stumbles upon the secrets of his "weird" tenants——the uncle practicing swordsmanship on the balcony is a hermit sword immortal, the aunt making osmanthus cake is a thousand-year-old fox demon, and even the downstairs appliance repairman is an alchemist hiding from heavenly tribulation! What's worse, his grandfather's will hides a rule: he must satisfy all these big-shot tenants, otherwise the apartment will "disappear on its own." To keep his inheritance, Yang Tao is forced to become the "cultivation apartment manager," helping the sword immortal find his lost natal sword tassel, helping the fox demon deal with her colleagues' marriage urging, and hiding the apartment's secrets. But as he progresses, he discovers that the big shots are actually testing him——and his grandfather's death is related to a sealed secret in the apartment...
