In a famine-stricken year, the Liu couple flee with their 3-year-old daughter Xiaotang, on the verge of starvation in a dilapidated temple—until Xiaotang points to a corner yelling, "The rabbit says there are sweet potatoes here!" It turns out she’s born with the ability to understand animal language! Since then, Xiaotang directs mice to find hidden grain, uses sparrows to scout for bandits, and even gets an old ox to lead the family to a water-rich wasteland. But the county magistrate’s son covets her "divine power" to curry favor with a noble. The Lius hide in the mountains with Xiaotang, only to find she can "negotiate" with a tiger? How will this soft little tot use her animal whisper to protect her family and turn their misery into luck?
