Zhou Jianguo's lifelong hard-earned Zhou Group is seen as a sure catch by his only son Zhou Ming—he forces his father to sign the equity transfer agreement and even plots to send the elderly man to a nursing home. Only his daughter-in-law Su Xiaotang always stands by her father-in-law: she serves him tea and medicine, accompanies him for treatment, quarrels with her husband and calls him "heartless," and never backs down even when accused of "betraying her husband." Zhou Jianguo seems to give in and sign, but in fact, he has long secretly transferred the equity of a billion-dollar rare earth mine overseas to Su Xiaotang. When Zhou Ming proudly declares "The Zhou Group is mine now" holding the transfer agreement, Su Xiaotang takes out the mine ownership document, and the old man smiles and adds: "My family fortune was never meant for someone without a conscience."
