Embalmer Lin Xiaoman uses cold coffins to preserve the dignity of the deceased, but the sudden disappearance of her lover Gu Jingshen five years ago has become the heaviest "unwidowed" secret in her heart. Until Gu Jingshen crashes into a funeral as a "client's family member" with a pregnant "fiancée", Xiaoman is forced to handle the funeral for his "fiancée" and discovers the engagement is fake—Gu Jingshen hides a chemotherapy bracelet under his suit. The truth of his disappearance: he had leukemia and left to avoid burdening her. When she finally lifts the "coffin lid" covering her love, she realizes he came back just to be her "living person" one last time before his death.
