Female journalist Su Wan returns to Beijing after five years to investigate her father’s old engineering accident case. Late at night in an old town alley, she crashes into the arms of her ex-lover Lu Jingshen—now an investment bank president in charge of the urban renewal project. Old love reunites, but Lu warns her, "Stay away from the old town’s business." Su discovers her father’s death is linked to Lu’s group’s renovation plan, and Lu seems to be secretly fighting against the interest group. When the truth emerges, will she uncover the lies or forgive the "unannounced departure"? In Beijing’s late night, both their love and justice teeter on the edge of falling apart.
