Social-anxious mangaka Li Mengran drew the perfect paper boyfriend Chengzi to escape marriage pressure—he’s gentle, thoughtful, and always understands her unspoken needs. But when Chengzi suddenly “comes to life” from the drawing, Li Mengran realizes everything’s out of control: this character steals her pen to rewrite the comic, forces her to attend a class reunion to “build courage,” and even yells at her, “You’re the coward hiding in the drawing!” It turns out Chengzi has long had self-awareness—he’s not here to “satisfy” Li Mengran, but to “save” her.
