Modern office worker Lin Xiaoman finds an iris-engraved pocket watch at a second-hand market and travels back to 1937 Shanghai's French Concession, meeting Ye Jingshen, a Western-educated young master of the Ye family—he looks exactly like her late first love. As Xiaoman indulges in Ye's gentleness, the pocket watch heats up: every day together, she forgets one modern memory, from colleagues' names to her parents' faces. Even more shocking, Ye's notebook has a portrait of her in a modern hoodie with the note: "The 37th time-travel visitor—do not fall in love."
