In the 1960s, Lin Xiaomei lives in a leaky wood shed with her 3-year-old son Xiaodoubao, struggling even to afford bran cakes. One day, a mysterious hole appears in the shed’s wall, leading to a garbage spot in a modern residential area. Curious Xiaodoubao crawls through and brings back “discarded” items from modern times—fresh vegetables, bread, even bacon that neighbors don’t want. These “trash” become life-saving treasures for the mother and son. But as Xiaodoubao brings more things, Lin grows increasingly anxious: Will the hole disappear suddenly? Can Xiaodoubao keep this secret long enough to help them survive?
