Li Jianren, the cold-hearted Sword Venerable from the immortal cultivation world, descends to the mortal realm to pass his final love tribulation, hiding as an ordinary office worker. He plans to get through it by being emotionless, but is relentlessly pursued by Li Muxi, a quirky beauty blogger—she gives him coffee with code written on it, stays with him until midnight to hand him hot cocoa, and even climbs over the wall to make ginger tea when he's sick. While Li Jianren sticks to the rule of "true love leads to tribulation failure", he secretly sets her photo as his phone wallpaper. And Li Jianren suddenly remembers: 300 years ago, he saved a little fox whose eyes were exactly like hers...
