Lin Chuan, a down-and-out programmer, raises his 5-year-old daughter Xiaotang alone. Framed by his former company, he loses his job and can't even afford rent. One day, Xiaotang brings back an old pen carved with "Little Angel" and says, "This is a magic pen that can make Dad great again." Lin Chuan doesn't take it seriously—until Xiaotang draws a picture of "Dad having a job" and he receives an interview invitation from a famous company the next day. It turns out Xiaotang secretly gave the picture to Lin Chuan's former colleague, who was moved by the child's wish and recommended him. Surprisingly, the "magic pen" seems to work: drawing warm milk makes a carton appear, drawing an umbrella leads to a neighbor offering one... But the real comeback is Lin Chuan regaining courage through companionship—he uses the pen to record parent-child daily life into a picture book that goes viral, paying off debts and becoming a best-selling author. And the "magic pen"? It's just a gift Xiaotang saved up for a month to buy, just to make Dad "stop being sad."
