Lin Wan is a designer raising her 5-year-old son Xiaotuanzi alone. Sympathizing with his mom working overtime every night, Xiaotuanzi sneaks out to "pick a daddy" and accidentally latches onto Gu Tingshen, the cold CEO of a conglomerate—who is actually his biological father he's never met. Using "kindergarten homework needs a dad's help" as an excuse, Xiaotuanzi clings to Gu, who goes from annoyed to touched by the mother-son duo's warmth. However, Lin Wan, haunted by a past misunderstanding, avoids Gu at all costs. As the cute kid helps Gu pursue his mom while secretly "exposing" his origin, the three untangle their misunderstanding through laughter and tears, finally finding happiness.
