Lin Wan, a high-pressure investment banker, goes undercover as a tenant to secure the old alley demolition project, only to meet Lu Zhao, her former neighbor who runs a wonton shop—the boy who once taught her to wrap wontons and hid her failed exam papers. Now Lu Zhao guards the alley's warmth and refuses to sign, while Lin Wan presses forward with职场 rigidity. But when the scent of midnight wontons brings back childhood memories, and Lu Zhao hands her hot soup saying, “You’re still the little Wan who’s afraid of the dark,” Lin Wan realizes: the “success” she’s chased so hard is far less filling than the alley’s warm lamp and a bowl of hot wontons. Is she tearing down the old alley, or her lost self?
