Dr. Qiao Shiyan (played by Wang Kaimu), a skilled surgeon, always misses rent collection due to surgeries—even tenants of his three old apartments see him as a "hands-off landlord." Jinzi (played by Jinzi), a dessert chef who just got dumped, is his tenant. She accidentally finds him in the corridor, awkwardly filling rent slips—dry pen, mixed room numbers, even losing his keys. However, Qiao Shiyan's "professional coldness" makes him reject her first, then doubt her. Until he sees her fixing a leaky pipe for an old tenant: cement on her nose, clumsy with a wrench. Suddenly, he remembers the girl who always left him warm taro puree in the clinic. Rent collection becomes an excuse for mutual approach.
