Lin Xiaoman, a second-hand book restorer, is struggling to keep her late grandmother’s old bookstore “Guiyun Ge” open as rent skyrockets. One night, while restoring a Qing Dynasty thread-bound book, she suddenly hears a man’s voice from the pages: “Aman, stealing the master’s osmanthus wine again?” Looking up, she sees Zhou Yan, a man in a moon-white gown, sitting on the windowsill—he claims to be a scholar from the Daoguang era, who enters dreams with the book’s breeze every night to find “Aman”, the young bookboy who sacrificed herself to save him from a fire.
