Lin Xiaoman, a corporate slave, flees to Green Mountain Village—her grandmother’s former home—to heal from workplace emotional abuse. But she mistakes Gu Ye, the forest keeper, for a “rude local who chases away tourists” and is accused of being a “developer spy” in return. To prove her innocence, Xiaoman is forced to patrol the mountain with Gu Ye, only to uncover his secrets: he guards the old tea tree planted by her grandmother, secretly takes care of the village’s left-behind children, and even keeps her grandmother’s embroidered handkerchief. Just as Xiaoman falls for the mountain’s clouds and Gu Ye’s smile, he suddenly disappears—he’s gone to the county to fight for the tea tree’s ownership and stop the developers from destroying the mountain. Xiaoman finally realizes: what she wants to protect is not just her grandmother’s memories, but also the man who made her heart flutter at first sight.
