Top actor Chen Kaizhou takes on a healing romance drama, co-starring new screenwriter Li Miaomiao as the female lead—her script depicts the male lead as a “gentle knight who warms the female lead with his whole life.” During filming, Chen Kaizhou brings the character into real life: delivering hot congee on rainy nights, remembering her mango allergy, even leaving a lamp on for her when she works overtime. The director jokes he’s “too deep in the role.” But when Li Miaomiao quietly falls for him, she overhears Chen talking to his agent: “It’s just acting by the script; it ends when we wrap.” She hides her feelings and plans to quit, unaware that Chen crumples the script page behind her—he had long replaced “the character’s tenderness” with “my true feelings for you.”
