Lin Xiaochuan takes over the dying "Young Heroes Society" to fulfill his grandfather's last wish, only to find the only members left are the chatterbox Ajie and Hanfu-obsessed Xiaotang. The society is about to lose its community space because it has no decent performance. Forced to compete in the "Old Town Folk Culture Contest," they mess up practice—stepping on the lion head during lion dance training, crashing into a tanghulu stall while practicing hip-hop—and even split up over the debate of "preserving tradition vs. innovating." It's not until they see the old society flag left by Grandpa that they realize: "Heroes" aren't about one person's glory, but a group of teens piecing their falling-apart passion into the brightest flame. Finally, their fusion of hip-hop and lion dance blows the competition away. They save the society and rediscover the fiery spirit that defines youth.
