Female journalist Su Wan boards the ocean liner "The Ship of the Abyss"—rumored to carry the obsessions of the dead—to investigate her sister's disappearance. During the voyage, passengers face "illusory deaths" tied to their past sins: a tycoon is chased by a vengeful debt collector to jump off the ship, a crew member is dragged into the sea by a sailor he left to drown, and Su Wan sees her sister smiling in the mirror: "Sis, come finish our unfinished game."
