In the bustling Republican-era Shanghai (the famous "Ten Miles of Foreign Field"), Su Qinghuan, a downfallen young lady, disguises herself as a dancer to sneak into Marshal Gu Jingchen's cocktail party—all to steal the debt note left by her late father, which has her brother detained by the warlord. But Gu Jingchen recognizes her immediately: she’s the little girl who gave him half a steamed bun on the street a decade ago. He deliberately sets a trap to keep her close, testing her "purpose" while secretly paying off her debts. Qinghuan also discovers that this reputedly cold marshal hides unexpected tenderness. When the truth about her father’s "debt" is revealed—that money was actually a life-saving loan from Gu’s father—can their love overcome family misunderstandings and reclaim the original "qinghuan" (pure joy) amid Shanghai’s glitz and chaos?
